2012 Spirit Tee Slogan Contest Starts April 1
Every year since 2003, from April 1-May 1 we have encouraged our community and duck fans across the nation to use their creative skills and submit a unique slogan for the current year’s athletic events. We typically receive and review well over 1,000 entries. Our committee consists of representatives from UOAA, UO Athletic Dept, The Duck Store, and Marketing and Brand Management.
The selected slogan then goes onto t-shirts and profits from those sales benefit the band and cheerleaders, enabling them to participate in events and competitions previously cost-prohibitive for them.
Previous winning slogans have included the inaugural slogan Lightening Strikes, followed by All Duck’ed Out, Get InDuckted, Yell-O, and Live Green Yell-O
The kick-off event to announce the slogan and winner of the contest is held annually at our Autzen Duck Store during the first official day of football practice. It’s a great Tailgate Practice, and marks the day when the current year’s spirit tee goes on sale at all Duck Store locations.
To date, this program has generated close to $80,000 for our Oregon marching band and cheerleading squad.
